Chem Sponge, Dry Cleaning Sponge, Chemical Sponge, whatever you want to call it, it's an important tool for our technicians during fire restoration. The sponge is made out of natural rubber and is designed to remove soot from fires in a dry state. The tiny porous cells of the sponge lift soot from surfaces quickly without smearing.
