It is becoming that time of year where campfire season is upon us. When having a fire, there are many different things that you should be cautious of. We have worked numerous fire damage jobs over the years that are the result of homeowners making campfire safety mistakes that resulted in severe home damage. Fire is extremely dangerous and should be taken seriously with precautions in place. Here are some tips to help prevent you from experiencing a disaster:

  • Make sure there are no burn bans and that it isn't too windy
  • Dig a pit away from overhanging branches
  • Circle the pit with rocks
  • Stack extra wood upwind and away from the fire
  • Never leave a campfire unattended
  • Keep a bucket of water and shovel nearby
