Candle Safety

10/7/2019 (Permalink)

With colder weather making its way to West Michigan and the holidays approaching quickly, we all love lighting our favorite fall candles. What many individuals do not consider are the dangers that come along with having them in the home. There are three primary safety tips for candles:

  1. Never leave a burning candle unattended. If you have to leave the house for any reason, be sure that the candle is blown out before departing.
  2. Never burn a candle on or near anything that might catch fire. Be sure to keep candles away from items such as curtains, towels, paper towel, tissues, and more.
  3. Keep candles our of the reach of children and pets. This will help prevent accidental burns as well as knocked over candles that can result in a fire.
