Home Fire Safety

Many individuals do not consider how important it is to be adequately equipped for a house fire until they have experienced one. A very important piece of home fire safety is having smoke alarms. Not only is it important to have smoke alarms, but to also ensure that they are working properly. Smoke alarms should be installed in every bedroom and outside sleeping areas. It is recommended that you test your smoke alarms at least once a month. A smoke alarm being present will do no good if it is not working. Replace your alarms every 10 years. Smoke alarms are relatively inexpensive and well worth the lives they can save. It is also very important to ensure that everyone in the home knows the alarm sound and what to do should they hear it. Protect yourself and your family by investing the time and money into smoke alarms.
