Sewage Ejector Explosion
If you are a homeowner, one of the last things you want to experience is a sewage problem. This homeowner in Fruitport, MI experienced a sewage ejector pipe break in his bathroom. A sewage ejector pump is used to pump liquids and solids up to a sewer line when the sewer line runs at a higher level than the fixture. They are primarily used in homes that have basement bathrooms or laundry rooms, although not all homes have them. The sump basin typically collects and holds about 30 gallons of waste and begins pumping when a movable float reaches a certain height. The ejection pit in this home exploded. Luckily the sewage was contained to the bathroom which made for an easier cleanup. The sewage was extracted then the bathroom was steam cleaned. Our crew disinfected the area twice to ensure cleanliness and safety.
